Apple - Bountiful

from £40.00

Parentage:Cox’s Orange Pippin x Lane’s Prince Albert

Description:Bountiful is a classic English cooking apple. Produces heavy crops at a young age of medium-sized fruits, green in colour, striped orange-red with quite a sharp taste. Flesh is soft, juicy and light and sweet when cooked. The apple slices also retain their shape when cooked so are perfect for topping apple pies and other apple desserts. They can also be eaten straight from the tree if you like a crisp and sharp tasting apple. Beautiful light pink blossom during the spring and deep green leaves. A good garden tree that is easy to grow and very productive!

History:Raised by Dr F. Alston at the East Malling Research Station, Kent in 1964. Later introduced by Highfield Nurseries, Gloucester in 1985.

Pollination Partners:Apple Adam's Pearmain Apple Bardsey Apple Cornish Aromatic Apple Egremont Russet Apple Golden Pippin Apple Lord Lambourne Apple Red Windsor Apple St Edmund's Russet
